What We Do
We trim hedges, shrubs, and ornamental plantings to shape, remove dead and diseased wood, and clean up all cuttings on every visit. Trimming out dead growth keeps the plant healthier, allows new growth to fill in correctly, and reduces the risk of insect problems taking hold in weak wood.
For overgrown hedges that have gotten away from a homeowner, we can cut back to a manageable shape and set up a recurring schedule to keep them there.
When to Trim
Most shrubs in central Indiana benefit from trimming twice a year: once in late spring after the first flush of growth, and again in late summer before the plant starts hardening off for winter. Trimming at the wrong time won’t kill most shrubs but it can reduce flowering and slow recovery.
We work around the plant’s natural growth cycle so the results hold longer between visits.
